Maine Veterans' Dental Network Updates

The Maine Veterans’ Dental Network (MVDN) has had a robust response to the December 27th press release announcing the replenishment of its grant funding and has been recording  requests for dental care over the past few weeks from veterans from across the State of Maine. The program will start connecting  veterans who have submitted their application and a copy of
their DD-214 to the nearest participating dental clinic in their
area in February.

Seven new dental clinics have been added to the MVDN roster and they include - Katahdin Valley Health Center (with five locations - Houlton, Patten, Ashland, Brownville, and Millinocket); St. Croix Regional Family Health Center (Princeton); and Greater Portland Health (Portland) for a total of 22 dental clinics working together to help address the oral healthcare needs of Maine’s Veterans.

In addition to serving Maine’s veterans’ dental needs, MBVS worked in partnership with the Lunder-Dineen Health Education Alliance of Maine to create a free online continuing education program for oral health care and medical professionals, “Addressing Veterans’ Oral Healthcare Needs,” which received accreditation from Mass General Brigham and went live online on the first week of January.
